First of all, I would like to thank all of you who have supported the food pantry by your gifts of money, food items, and volunteer time.
I will try to get the information updates to Eric weekly so please check back often, as our needs change often.
I decided to list most of what we try to keep in the pantry, so please feel free to give as you can.
Canned veggies (all kinds), canned fruits (all kinds), juices (64 oz. containers), cereal (all kinds), hamburger helper, rice, ramon noodles, sleeved crackers, bags of pasta noodles, snacks, popcorn, and personal care items.
Right now, I have a grant for certain "proteins", so we dont need those right now. I will let you know when we do. I will also be keeping the grocery cart in the narthex each Sunday for food and money donations.
Right now we are averaging between 120 and 130 families a month, and after they cut the welfare time limit, I expect this number to grow. This is an awesome ministry our church has and Jesus taught us to feed the hungry. We are doing a great job of this, but the need is great, and our pantry gets rather low at times. I would invite all who can, to participate in this mission. Thanks again for your support and prayers.
If you have any questions about how the food pantry operates, or would like a tour, please let me know and I would be happy to answer your questions and show you around.
Helen Reid, food pantry coordinator
